TransPac does two kinds of authoring: writing independently or with co-authors to publishers’ briefs or specifications; submitting to publishers TransPac-generated proposals that we think meet market needs and/or fill a pedagogical gap.

1) Young Learner’s Picture Dictionary
Target Market: children 6-12 in Asia, Mexico, South America
 
“Pictures Plus a Thousand Words”
 
The Young Learner’s Picture Dictionary is a comprehensive and fun vocabulary and language development program for children ages 6-12. 
 
This highly flexible program can be used as a dictionary, a classroom text, or a home study guide that appeals to both students and teachers thanks to its ease of use, sense of fun, useful themes and content, and review picture stories.
 
The Young Learner’s Picture Dictionary:
 
    •    Lists and illustrates more than 1,000 essential words in full color, grouped in easy-to-remember lexical collections. 
    •    Provides teachers and students with 60 learner-friendly two-page topics divided into 12 practical and fun themes. 
    •    Reviews the language after every five units by recycling it in fun and engaging picture stories so students are exposed to vocabulary in use and remember new words because of the characters and story lines. 
    •    Makes the teacher’s job easy by providing at least three learning tasks/games and a “Spot the Difference” activity in every unit. 
    •    Has an innovative front cover flap that folds over each page to reveal the pictures but not the attached word – perfect for classroom review or self-study. 
    •    Helps teachers deal with multi-level classes by including “bonus words” in every unit. 
    •    Includes a free CD containing all the words and phrases of the dictionary while an optional (for purchase) DVD contains songs and chants done in karaoke style that is entertaining as well as educational since students actually see the words they’re singing or chanting as they sing or chant them with visual cues behind them. 
    •    Has a useful multilingual index so teachers and students can see the words in their native language, as well as in the IPA and KK pronunciation systems. 
    •    Has a free website where students can practice the words they’ve learned as well as engage in other fun but useful learning activities (optional).

Roundtheworld.com follows the adventures of the Round Family as they sail round the world in their boat, Explorer. Join Peter and Karen Round and their two boys (Mark & Billy) and two girls (April & Eve - and their parrot, Star) as they go from place to place around the globe meeting fascinating people and seeing interesting things.
 
Round the World.com is an innovative six-level communicative course for children of different ages who are studying English as a foreign language. Above all, Round the World.com addresses the fundamental way that children learn through the easy-to-understand GLAD Approach (Games & play Listening & music, Action & movement, Dialogue & stories). 3)  Listening Lounge
“Learn with the book, practice with the website.”
 
Target Market: Adults, young adults in Asia, Latin America
 
Listening Lounge is a unique, integrated book and website that combine to provide teachers and students with the most powerful listening resource on the market. The book begins with an essay on what students need to know about listening and then supplies them and their teacher with 16 units plus 4 review units (20-40 hours of classroom time) of intensive listening skills practice in an accompanying audio (CD) program that features recordings presented at three different natural-sounding speeds to acclimatize students to natural speaking styles. To become independent learners and get extensive listening practice, students need only access the free Listening Lounge website containing hundreds of hours of extra practice, some connected to the Book units as well as other rich resources suited to students’ levels and interests.

The world’s most extensive listening website with hundreds of hours of material, divided by level (easy, medium, difficult), by type (general, academic, business), and by source (American, British, World). This site has been active since 1999 and receives more than 1,000 visitors per day from dozens of countries.

•  An accompanying CD with the Speed It Up section recorded at three different speeds (all natural, however) helps train listeners to process passages at natural speed.
